B. The Master Plan Advisory Body

Oversight for the Master Plan is provided by a Master Plan Advisory Body (MPAB). The core of the MPAB consists of the membership of the County Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board (DAAB). In order to ensure that the MPAB includes all of the representatives designated by the state, a number of individuals representing constituencies not already present on the DAAB were invited to join.

The DAAB has an Executive Committee, consisting of the Chair, Vice Chair and Secretary. There are four standing committees: Membership, Prevention, Visiting, and Budget and Planning.

  1. Mission

The mission of the San Mateo County Master Plan Advisory Body (MPAB) is to provide community review, comment, and oversight to the formulation of A Multicultural Five- Year Master Plan for the Reduction of Alcohol and Other Drug Problems in San Mateo County. In carrying out this mission, the MPAB recognizes that programs for the reduction of alcohol and other drug, problems have many areas of common concern. The MPAB is committed, therefore, to the effective and efficient coordination of all resources and the elimination of all unnecessary duplication.

  2. Membership

The following membership listing of the Master Plan Advisory Body provides remarks, in the right-hand column, indicating the constituency group represented by the individual member, and whether the member is an appointee of the County Drug and Alcohol Advisory Board (DAAB). Individual liaisons for the four major systems (H=Health, SS=Social Services, E--Education, and CJ=Criminal Justice) are indicated by the code in the middle column.
