recorded more days with excess particulate matter than either ozone or carbon monoxide.
The Bay Area recently achieved redesignation as a federal attainment area for not having
exceeded the national ozone standard over the 1990 to 1992 period. Achievement of the
federal attainment area will result in a need to comply with fewer federal administrative
and regulatory requirements.
