C. Health Related Behaviors
This section of the Community Health Profile contains statistics regarding the health
related behaviors of San Mateo County residents. Areas in which the Consortium sought to
collect data included: self-perceptions regarding health, current utilization of clinical
preventive services, well-child check-ups and immunizations, health behaviors (i.e., diet,
nutrition, fitness, weight control), alcohol/drug abuse, and injury control.
The Hospital Consortium of San Mateo County obtained limited information regarding
health related behaviors as these types of data are not largely reported to public health
departments or the State Department of Health Services. Future primary market research
will be needed to develop a more accurate assessment of the health related behaviors of
San Mateo County residents. |
