About Healthy Communities San Mateo County   With a commitment to community wellness, a host of San Mateo County organizations came together in 1998 to conduct a community needs assessment. The organizations recognized the overlapping information requirements and potential duplication of efforts in their separate efforts and undertook a joint project as the Healthy Community Collaborative of San Mateo County (HCCSMC). This joint effort resulted in the creation of a comprehensive Community Assessment as well as a Web site which makes available a wide array of data that has been collected throughout the county.
