However, the report shows that certain segments of the population do not experience good health and quality of life, and that in some, less than optimal health and quality of life issues are more prevalent here than in other parts of the state and nation. Individuals with lower incomes report more difficulty accessing community assets and greater obstacles to fulfilling basic needs. Additionally, it was found that even those with adequate means do not have adequate environmental and social support to take advantage of simple lifestyle activities that would promote health, reduce chronic disease, and prolong life.
