Capuchino High School Summer Reading List 2013

Freshman

9th Grade CP English and AS / Pre-IB English

The San Mateo Union High School District does not require freshmen to do summer reading.

Sophomore

10th Grade CP English

Please read two books you haven't read before (your choice). Be prepared to write an in-class essay on them during the first two weeks of school in English class. Your English teachers recommend that you choose two titles from the California Department of Education’s Recommended Literature List for grades 9-12 at http://www3.cde.ca.gov/reclitlist/search.aspx.

Suggestion: Students should take up to two pages of notes on the reading. Note important characters, events, and themes. Students will be able to use these notes on the test. The notes must be hand-written.

10th Grade AS English
